about me
Although Pamela was born in Kenya while her parents were Peace Corps volunteers, most of her pre-college life was split between the Middle East and the South Pacific. She then got stuck in academia for nine years during which she received a BS in Environmental Biology from Taylor University, a MS in Environmental Geology and a PhD in Water Resources, both from the University of Notre Dame. Although a lover of learning, the last degree was primarily fueled by the water quality and community development research she was pursuing in villages in Bénin, West Africa. Her work experience includes collaborations with a large development agency, small NGOs and NPOs, and universities. At work she brings to the job a passion for education, good science and sustainable community development.
Outside of the office, Pamela loves cooking for friends, drinking bottomless cups of chai, curling up with a book, capturing the moment through photos, visiting friends spread across the globe, trying her hand at refinishing furniture, sleeping in tents and hammocks, and spending as much time as possible swimming and SCUBA diving in the ocean. Pamela now spends her time with one foot in America and one foot in Africa as she works with Blood:Water Mission’s ongoing water projects.
